​Fox & Gem was originally founded by Ammara Crittenden of Agem's Photography and Tamara Taylor of nightBloom Photography as the Heirloom Sessions, a portrait project exploring fine art dance in studio. Immediately recognizing the strength of their collaboration, the Edmonton Area photographers joined forces to create fine-art style portraiture to local clients, as well as travelling for sessions as frequently as they are able. Specializing in dance and styled couture children's sessions, they also capture stunning maternity, and family images, as well as the occasional wedding.

In September 2020, Fox & Gem were in Featured in the PPA's Professional Photographer Magazine.

Ammara's multi-award winning image, Swan Dive, represented Canadain the Portrait category of the 2021 World Photographic Cup, and was awarded a place in the prestigious top-10, placing 6th overall!

Most recently, both competed in the 2021 National PPOC Image Salon, where all of their images entered were accepted into the salon. Tamara earned an Excellence award, and Ammara earned 3 Merit awards.

Both Ammara and Tamara have been published in Child Couture Magazine, and been included in the Top Photographer of the week on Summerana.com, and published as top 10 Children's Author's on Inspire's Digital or Not Fine Art Magazine. Ammara received amazing scores in The 2019 and 2020 Portrait Masters competition, earning multiple silver awards and 8 positions in the Top 20 of various categories. Her amazing images earned 3 Merit and one Excellence award, as well as Best in Class for Child Portrait in the 2019 Alberta Image Salon competition. She then went on to be awarded Best in Class for Child Portrait 2020 at the National PPOC level.
